Healthy Start
Luncheon and Benefit
The Healthy Start Luncheon and Benefit was held on Tuesday, April 20,
2010. This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Andrew Meltzoff, Co-Director,
University of Washington Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences and
author of Scientist in the Crib, presented fascinating new research on
child development and the importance of social interaction in the
learning process. His compelling studies at the Institute underscore the
importance of Healthy Start’s effective relationship-based curriculum.
180 guests attended the luncheon, raising over $35,000 to help support
home-based parenting education for young, first time parents. Thank you
to all our donors and sponsors for your generous contributions!
Thank you to the Foundation for Early Learning for
their support.
